The Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

Hello Faerie Friends!

I’ve been seeing this post on a few of my favourite blogs, so when Beth over at Booksnest tagged me I was quite excited to have a go and see how naughty or nice I’ve been this year!

Tag another 10 people! (I think 5 might be enough, don’t you?)

So, here goes…

1. Received an ARC and not reviewed it
I’ve only received one ARC since starting my blog, and that was Priory of the Orange Tree which I’ve just reviewed!  However, I now have a couple of new ARCs which need reviewing, so I’ll be doing that just as soon as possible.

2. Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley
I’m a very bad bookworm and I don’t actually have Netgalley… I know, how bad is that?  In all fairness, I don’t tend to use my iPad for reading and I don’t have a kindle.  I’m more of a fan of real books.  This has a lot to do with the fact that I spend most of my work day staring at a screen, so I don’t really want to do that when I’m reading as well…

3. Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)
I’ve done this once this year, and that was for Muse of Nightmares.  I’m still working on my review for that one, so hopefully I’ll get it finished by the end of the year…

4. Folded down the page of a book
I used to do this when I was small and knew no different.  Now that I’m the ripe old age of twenty seven, I’m far more careful with my books.  I even make sure that my mum doesn’t fold down the corners of her books as well.  I have more than enough bookmarks to ensure I don’t fold pages, and if I don’t have a bookmark on me then I’ll use whatever is to hand!

5. Accidentally spilled on a book
Not this year, but I am guilty of having done this in the past.  I also have a friend who spilt a cup of tea on one of my books… She replaced it, which was nice!

6. DNF a book this year
Yes, I’ve done this with a couple of books this year.  Sometimes I pick the wrong book for my current mood, so I don’t mind putting it down and waiting for the right mood to strike.

7. Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it
Hasn’t everyone done this at some point in their life?!

8. Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework)
I’m quite lucky in that I don’t really have anything I ‘should’ be doing in my free time, aside from seeing friends and walking the dog.  So I get quite a lot of time to read, and I definitely try to make the most of that.

9. Skim read a book
I’m dreadful at skim reading books, so no!  If I try and skim a page, I always have to go back and reread something because I’ve missed an important point!

10. Completely missed your Goodreads goal
I need to read 3 books to hit my target, and I’m hoping to get a lot of reading done over the Christmas period so I should be okay.

11. Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library
Never.  My record at the library is spotless.

12. Broke a book buying ban
My record here is not so spotless… I’m usually pretty good in the month or so leading up to my birthday and Christmas.  If I set myself a book buying ban at any other time in the year, then I’m probably going to break it!

13. Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about
Yes.  Very much yes.  I’ve now started writing little notes to myself about certain parts of the books I’m reading so I know what I like and what I don’t like.

14. Wrote in a book you were reading
I haven’t done this since I was at university, and then I only ever wrote in textbooks.  I used to hate it at school when we were analysing a novel and had to underline or highlight parts.

15. Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads
I can’t say I’ve ever done this.  Since I started using Goodreads, I’ve been pretty methodical about adding the books I’ve finished!

16. Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend
No, I’m very good at returning books.  It’s other people who are not good at borrowing books…

17. Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book
Yes!  Especially with some people who I know aren’t as careful with their books as I am with mine.  Or who still have one or more of my books… and have had them for quite some time… like, over a year… and keep telling me they’ll give it to me the next time they see me…

18. Broke the spine of someone else’s book
Nope, I would never.

19. Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged
I might have done this a time or two… But then you put the dustjacket back on and the book looks flawless, so it’s all good!

20. Sat on a book accidentally
Haha!  No, but I know some people who do this regularly!
How did I do?
Nice: 13
Naughty: 7

Thirteen is my lucky number!  Does that mean I’m on the nice list?  Can I have more books now?
I tag:
Cat @ Tackfiction
Lauren @ Fictiontea
Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams
Justine @ Bookish Wisps
Alexia @ The Bookworm Daydreamer

Thanks for reading, faeries!  I hope you enjoyed!
